Commission a Portrait
Custom Fine Art Portraits by Kate Geiger
Overview
Portraits are my passion. I love working with clients to create meaningful, original works of art featuring the people they love. My style blends classical realism with a fresh, contemporary approach—bringing warmth, personality, and depth to each painting.
I open a limited number of commission slots a few times per year. If you're interested, reach out early to secure a spot.
Working From Photos
Yes, I paint exclusively from photographs.
Many clients provide their own high-resolution photos, and modern smartphones often do the job beautifully.
Not sure your image will work? I’m happy to review it. If a photo doesn’t provide enough detail, I’ll let you know—I want to ensure you're thrilled with the final painting.
Need Help With the Photo?
I offer professional photography sessions for clients who’d prefer that I take the reference image:
$250 – Local shoot (near Philadelphia)
$300 – Travel shoot (up to 50 miles)
I’ve photographed my subjects for over 20 years and use professional equipment to capture natural light and expression.

HEAD AND SHOULDERS
(SMALL PORTRAIT OPTION)
This format is on the smaller side and features just the face, head, neck and shoulders, usually with a fairly simple background. Background ideas could include simple neutral tones, suggested landscape, or a patterned background. Because of the straightforward nature of these head and shoulder portraits, turnaround time is generally quicker than a more elaborate portrait. They are a great option for small gifts or even having several members painted individually, but hung together as a series.
Sizes and Prices for this format are as follows:
8X10” $400
12X12” $500
11X14” $600
THREE-QUARTER FIGURE
(MEDIUM PORTRAIT OPTION)
Three Quarter Portraits are a medium size portrait that includes the head down to the waist or upper thighs. Standing or sitting poses are included. These portraits generally have more compositional elements such as a room or props, etc. Indoor or outdoor scenes are common, but neutral and patterned backgrounds can also be done. Because there is more of the figure included, these are more intricate painting to have done as clothing and hands must be rendered as well as the face.
Sizes and Prices for this format are as follows:
16x20” $1000
18x18” $1200
18x24” $1400
22x30” $2000
